Xtreme Aquatic Foods did not set out to manufacture a tropical fish food, and in the beginning they did not know they would be feeding the food to half a million fish daily on one of Florida’s leading ornamental fish farms. 

Originally the food was only for use on the fish farm, there were no plans to package the food for retail and end users. It just happened that way…

Forty-five years ago there were no premium tropical fish foods readily available. As their fish farm in Florida grew, the guys had to develop their own premium food. 

It took many changes and variations, but they finally got it right and today, Xtreme Aquatic Food is fed to half a million daily on the fish farm and used by aquarists throughout the USA and around the world.

Xtreme starts with marine proteins such as krill, squid and herring all of which are sustainably harvested. These proteins are the backbone for a balanced diet formulated to encourage breeding, natural colour enhancement and support healthy growth and vitality. There are no cheap fillers used the fish food and even the fussiest of feeders will accept the fish food.

Xtreme Fish Food is made in the USA with all ingredients, packaging and labelling sourced from American companies. 

Even the Spirulina used in the fish foods is cultivated from farm raised origins within the USA, it is pure and non-GMO Spirulina.

Xtreme Fish Food was officially introduced and launched to the Australian aquarium market in 2014. Australia was Xtreme’s first international market outside of the USA/Canada. 

The Xtreme brand was quickly accepted and loved by Australian aquarists and their fish.

In March 2023, WSE Trading was very excited to be appointed Official Australian Distributors for Xtreme Aquatic Foods.  As part of this appointment, we began our WSE Wholesale business.

WSE WHOLESALE is the name of our new wholesale business, looking after the Australian Distribution of Xtreme Fish Foods and supplying pet & aquarium specialist retailers around Australia with Xtreme. 

Xtreme Fish Food developed a catalog of products to feed all kinds of fish in all kinds of environments. They had to because 45 years ago there was nothing to feed the farm of 500,000 ornamental tropical fish which the Xtreme brothers operated and developed after importing some of the first African Cichlids into the USA back in the early 1970s.

Then around 16-years-ago they started feeding Xtreme to the fish they did not breed or farm; such as guppies, egg layers, livebearers and other community fish found in many fish keeper's tanks. 

Marine fish can be finicky eaters too, but Xtreme discovered that great proteins like Shrimp, Krill and Squid found in all the formulas were perfect for them as well. 

Everything begins at the farm, real-life testing, trial and error formulations combine with suggestions from the retailers. Last but not least; fish gotta love it...and they do...which says it all.

  PeeWee™ Goldfish & NICE™
1.5 mm Pellets

PeeWee – Each Xtreme product is built around our 1.5mm pellet formulation; a combination of ingredients including proteins, plants, carbs, vitamins, attractants and trace elements. PeeWee is available as Community PeeWee, Cichlid PeeWee, Marine PeeWee, Goldfish Pellets and now, NICE™ (Naturally Intense Color Enhancer) 1.5mm slow-sinking and floating pellets.

Big Fella™ 3 mm Pellets

The 3mm version of the Xtreme formula was designed for larger community freshwater fish, cichlids and aggressive marine species. This slow-sinking 3mm pellet is available as Big Fella, Marine Big Fella, and coming soon, NICE 3mm slow-sinking and floating pellets.

Flakes and Crave™

We combine two incredibly formulated flake foods, Krill and Spirulina flakes to make our most popular flake product, Crave Flakes. Recently we made these two flakes available separately as Spirulina Flake, Marine Krill and Krill Flakes. If fish won't eat anything else, give them one of these four flake formulas.

Nano™, Monster & Shrimpee™

Three specialty formulas. For your fry and nano fish, our 52% protein diet, Nano™ is perfect. Try it in your saltwater FRAG tank. For your monster fish, try our pea protein based, 9mm Monster pellet. And for those beautiful shrimp, feed them a complete diet; Shrimpee™.

Scrapers™ and Bottom Wafers

For ten years we have offered our fast-sinking wafer as Cat Scrapers. Designed to encourage the natural scraping and foraging habits of Plecos and Catfish. Now we have expanded the range of this popular diet with a new Scrapers label and Bottom Wafers. We are pleased to follow suggestions from our customers to promote this sinking pellet as a favourite of fish beyond cats and plecos. If you're not convinced, get a small jar and try Scrapers™ or Bottom Wafers for yourself. Even fussy eaters like Black Ghost Knife Fish will accept Xtreme Scrapers.

Marine fish love Xtreme Krill based products. Marine PeeWee, Krill and Spirulina are three formulations for saltwater marine fish. Give them a try. Importers use Marine PeeWee as the first food fed to wild imported marine fish and they rave about the results. For larger or more aggressive marine fish, try Marine Big Fella.
